Creeking Kayaks
Creeking Kayaks:
If your thrills are running waterfalls and steep, narrow, shale/boulder formed waters than a creeking kayak is for you.Creek boats are often 8 feet or more in length with a displacement hull. A displacement hull is a rounded hull that allows for better tracking and easily blows through the water rather than skimming the top surface like a planning hull. The soft chine (when viewing a kayak from the front it’s the line that joins on the hull of the kayak) of these kayaks allow for less chance of becoming caught up or in between rocks. It also makes it harder to catch on edge (carve) since there is essentially no edge at all.
So rather than surfing a wave you prefer to run a waterfall or bounce around boulders on a narrow creek. These kayaks are typically built with thicker material allowing for the abuse that they tend to see.
Examples of creek kayaks:
Dagger‘s Nomad
Jackson Rocker Series
Liquid Logic’s Jefe
Wave Sport’s Habitat
Fluid’s Solo
And many others
Creeking Kayaks:
If dropping off a waterfall, boofing over a rock, dropping into a slide, or running a ledge sounds like a fun time to you then you should get into creeking. Creeking is about exploring rivers never ran before, stomping the perfect line through a class 3 or 4 feature, and challenging yourself on rivers to give yourself the biggest adrenaline rush you have ever felt.
Creeking kayaks are designed to have high volume and a displacement hull. The high volume and displacement hull shed water easily and keep the kayak on top of the water. They are often more than 8 feet in length and made with thicker plastic to withstand bolders and sharp rocks.

These are some creeking kayaks that will help you reach your takeout in one piece and without swimming. Noone wants to drink out of there bootie.
